ENGLISH VERSION: Today's Bible Verse (23.05.2024):
VERSE:
...My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." (EXODUS 33:14 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today we will meditate on the promise, "...My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." (Exodus 33:14).
This verse is important for our daily perspective. 'What are the things you can't live without?' You know the game of asking. Instead, some would say a cell phone, a handbag, a toothbrush. But the most important thing is the presence of God. "God's presence is the most important need," we must say. When God is with us, He promises to give us rest.
In both the Old Testament and the New Testament we are promised divine rest. The greatest of all blessings is rest. The word rest in the English Bible is translated as 'Rest'.
What is this way of relaxation? The first way is to meet God. As you sit in God's presence, God's loving presence fills and delights you. As you sing praises to him, he will pass before you. As you worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, His sweet love will overflow you.
What is relaxation? Rest is when we are at peace physically and mentally. This means that we can perform better. We do many good deeds and help many people for the Kingdom of God. Through this relaxation, we learn what decisions to make, what is right and what is wrong. We are a blessing to others.
If the Lord is your shepherd, he will lead you by the water trough. 'Still water' refers to the rest that the Lord gives. Even goats don't like turbid water. The Lord is going before you as a good shepherd to give you rest.
No seer can stop you when God's presence is before you. The Red Sea should open the way for you. The overflowing floods and the flowing Jordan must be turned back. The walls of Jericho, with its great iron gates and bronze gates, must crumble.
How to bring God's presence? Yes, it is the praise of the Lord that will bring the presence of God in your midst. Is He not the God who dwells in the praises of Israel? (Psalm 22:3). Any church that worships the Lord in spirit and in truth, there the presence of God is sure to descend without measure.
Look at Paul and Silas in the above verse. They were severely beaten with whips. They were imprisoned and tortured. Their feet were tied to the tree. But the soul was rejoicing in divine relaxation. So they worshiped and praised the Lord with peace. When the others in the prison were listening to it, wouldn't there have been a great relief in their hearts?
You should not wander around carrying your burdens. Instead, cast your cares on Jesus; Then you will get rest. He will go before you. You will easily succeed in everything you do.
Beloved, praise the Lord in all circumstances. May you continue to praise the Lord and enter into divine rest. Before starting each day, ask God to be with you. Ask for his presence during office and work breaks. May God re-energize you just as we re-energize the cell phone when it dies. Let us pray for God's presence to fill us today.
PRAYER:
Dear father, Thank you for encouraging me with your promise. May your presence be with me as I begin today. lead me; Fill with your peace; Gives me the wisdom to take the right decisions. Help me to be a blessing to others as You have blessed me completely. Thank you for your unfailing love and bearing with me. I praise You for being so considerate of me. I have laid all my burdens at your feet. You alone can grant me peace in all situations. I praise Thee for removing all fear and confusion from my mind and for strengthening me with Thy presence. You are always by my side. May your guiding presence always go before me and guide me step by step in life. Lord, help me to do all things with your rest, my heart to be at peace, and to walk victoriously in the path you have for me. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen.
