You can use vanilla wafers if you want, but Chessmen cookies give this dish a really cool look. I like to dip my cookies in whole milk before preparing the layers. Let me know if you try this recipe out. Total Prep Time: 30 minutes Serving Size: 8 - 10 people Ingredients: -1 pkg Chessmen Cookies from Pepperidge Farm -2 bananas sliced -1 box of instant French Vanilla Pudding (2 cups) -1/2 C softened cream cheese -1 C Cool Whip -*optional ingredient: whole milk to dip cookies Prepare French Vanilla pudding mix and follow the instructions from the package. Mix pudding until it gets thicker. Add cream cheese and Cool Whip to the pudding. Blend everything with beaters until you have a smooth consistency. Leave to the side. Slice bananas. For super moist cookies, dip Chessmen cookies in whole milk before adding to an 8 x 8 inch pan. Add the first layer by putting 12 Chessmen cookies into the pan. Add the sliced bananas for the second layer. Lay out the pudding mix into the pan creating the third layer. Lastly, add 12 more Chessmen cookies on top of the pudding. This dessert is best served the next day after it has been refrigerated over night. |
