| Video Discription | Dawki - one of the wonders of the Northeast - situated right at the India - Bangaladesh border is a must visit destination for tourists. It hosts the crystal clear transparent waters of River Wah Umngot, which is the main attraction for boating, kayaking, cliff jumping, scuba diving(seasonal) & snorkelling (seasonal). Touristy Tips: - It is ~3hr drive from Shillong and is best advised to do it together with Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong & Jowai - all in a circular route from Shillong. - Winter months are the best time to visit as there is less or no rainfall. - Boating in the early mornings are serene with lesser crowd. The reflection of river bed is more clearly visible in afternoons though. INR 750/ride (40mins) - You can either choose to stay in tents at the river banks or hotels nearby. Hotels. Tents are cheap and offers a very good experience in waking up to nature early morning amidst bird chirps. Shnongpdeng adventure camp is a good option who also provide all water activities. - We skipped staying in tent as we had a lot of luggage. Stayed in Lamin Guest House.
