An authorized user isn't legally responsible for whatever is on the account, but the payment history, etc does show up on the user's credit report. If the account is "positive" (the account is paid on time, etc), then it's not hurting you. However, if the account owner is late with their payments, or they've nearly maxed out their account, then it can negatively impact your account. You can usually remove an authorized user at any time, and have the account deleted from your credit reports by disputing through the credit bureaus. If you're an authorized user, you can ask the account owner can remove you from it. Thanks for watching! John G.
