Before Asad's encounter, Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman was killed in an encounter on March 6. Usman was the man who fired the first shot at Umesh Pal. In an encounter with Prayagraj police Usman suffered bullet injuries in his neck, chest and thigh during the encounter. Earlier, on February 27 - just 3 days after Umesh Pal's murder - Arbaz was killed in an encounter in Prayagraj on February 27.
