| Video Discription | What is the difference between normal worry and abnormal worry? What constitutes healthy anxiety from unhealthy anxiety? Is there such a thing as healthy anxiety? And what is anxiety anyway?? Different from WORRY, Anxiety is made up TWO major components: The FIRST is excessive worry--this constitutes ruminating thoughts, What-if trips, and the inability to quiet the mind and stop the WORRY CHATTER from happening in the mind. The 2nd component is a high level of physical tension, which a lot of people don't recognize play a large role in creating anxiety--PYSICAL TENSION can INCLUDE feelings of nervousness, tensing the muscles, being "uptight", or "high-strung." These two components feed off each other--one often triggering the other-- excessive worry thoughts causing you to tense up, AND tensing up activating the worry thoughts. The two go hand and hand. As we dive further into THIS Topic in future videos I will discuss the importance of mindfulness-- learning how to quiet the mind and stop the chatter--as well as the significance of learning how to relax your body. Did you know it is actually not possible to be anxious if your body is completely relaxed? But how often do we take the time to relax our BODY? I will walk you through something called progressive muscle relaxation so you can learn how to physically relax your body. WE will also learn mindfulness techniques to help you learn how to calm the mind and stop the worry thoughts. both of these--learning how to quiet the mind and relax the body are skills--and just like with any other skill-- IT can be mastered with TIME AND practice. If you are someone who constantly worries about what COULD go wrong, pushes yourself too hard and ends up feeling drained, and struggles to see what you've achieved or how you'll manage tomorrow's tasks, than please stay tuned for my next video that will help you learn HOW to break these patterns and get ahold of your anxiety and worry.
