| Video Discription | I had the incredible opportunity to interview Elvira Shishenina from BMW Group and Jasper Krauser from Airbus to talk about the how the aerospace and automotive industry is looking at quantum computing, the recent results in the paper "Platinum-based Catalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction simulated with a Quantum Computer”, and the Airbus BMW Quantum Challenge: The Quantum Mobility Quest, to open the doors for more collaboration between researchers, industry, and academia. This is the reverse, where they are asking to “propose novel solutions for both hardware and software where you see a large potential but where the relevance for the mobility sector still needs to be proven.” We joked that we need an award for most long term and outlandish suggestion that still might be feasible! Through these interviews, it was clear that Airbus and BMW are looking at quantum computing in the long term - which makes sense for these industries. In aerospace, 10 years is basically tomorrow, as Jasper said in this interview! Thank you so much to Elvira and Jasper for coming to discuss the challenge and your work.
