The kaleidoscopic book and exhibition 'The Extreme Self: Age of You' — written and curated by Shumon Basar, Douglas Coupland and Hans Ulrich Obrist, currently on show at Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai — addresses this question, featuring visual contributions and works from over 70 artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians and technologists. This conversation, between one of the author-curators, and three of the featured artists, delves into how technology, and then the pandemic, have altered perceptions of individuality, intimacy, and collectivity.
