"We wanted to do something physical. This garden is a physical, physical embodiment of of of Her Majesty in many respects. And we knew that in London, for example, there would be an outpouring of love, support, mourning respects outside Buckingham Palace. So we felt that this is the embodiment of that. And we wanted to create a platform for people to come and pay their respects in whatever way they find appropriate."

STORYLINE:
A memorial to Queen Elizabeth II in New York City was set up Friday in a garden dedicated to Britons who were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Flowers, flags and a portrait of the Queen greeted visitors to the Queen Elizabeth II September 11 Garden in lower Manhattan.
Visitors to the park took pictures as they remembered England's longest reigning monarch.
