| Video Discription | WEDNESDAY 7TH JUNE 2023 - CRIME WATCH LIVE HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY'S SHOW: Corpus Christi would be celebrated on Thursday 8th June, 2023. • The name 'Corpus Christi' is Latin for 'The Body of Christ'. • This festival is celebrated by Roman Catholics and other Christians across the world to proclaim the truth of the transformation of bread and wine into the actual body of Christ during mass. • It is believed that the feast of Corpus Christi originated with St. Juliana, a nun of Liege, Belgium, who was led to start a celebration of the mass around 1230 AD. • At an early age, St. Juliana developed a strong devotion to the blessed sacrament and longed for a feast in honor of the eucharist. • Although it is celebrated internationally, many gardeners in Trinidad have a tradition where they plant crops on Corpus Christi Day, believing it will ensure that their crops will thrive. • Some would even carry their seeds to mass to be blessed by a priest to ensure that their crops will thrive. A man was gunned down in Mafeking Village, Mayaro on Tuesday 6th June, 2023. • The deceased was identified as 23-year-old Tyron Huston aka “Puppy Tail” of Cooper Trace, Mafeking. • Around 7:00pm, Huston was standing on the roadway near his home, when he was ambushed and shot. • Residents who witnessed the incident, notified the police and Sgt Mohammed, PC Sarabjit, PC Racha and Wpc Charles responded to the report. • When they arrived at the scene, they observed Huston’s body lying on the roadway off the Naparima Mayaro road into the Mafeking road covered in gunshot injuries. • The officers summoned the D.M.O who arrived at the scene, ****ounced Huston dead and ordered his body be removed and sent to the Sangre Grande hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Science Center in St James. • Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and retrieved several 9mm spent shells. Three (3) men were shot and wounded in South Oropouche on Tuesday 6th June, 2023. • The victims were identified as 19-year-old Romel Jugoon, his father Gary Jugoon and another man who remains unidentified. • At around 9:00 pm, the victims were at Lezama Trace, South Oropouche when three men appeared from a nearby track. • The suspects pulled out their firearms and fired several shots at the men before fleeing the scene. • All three victims sustained gunshot injuries and subsequently contacted the police, who arrived at the scene and conveyed them to the San Fernando general hospital to receive medical treatment. Just on Wednesday 24th May, 2023, a resident of the Lezama Trace, South Oropouche area, identified as 41-year-old Adesh Ramrattan aka "Thin Man" was shot and killed at belle vue road. On Thursday 11th May, 2023 43-year-old Hillary James, also known by his alias “Fish” who was laborer of St John Road, South Oropouche was gunned down near Adesh Ramrattan’s home. Three (3) suspects were taken into police custody following a robbery at a pharmacy in Brentwood Mall, Chaguanas on Sunday 4th June, 2023. • Shortly after 8:00pm, the three suspects, two males and a female, all from Ravine Sable, Longdenville reportedly entered pharmacy central limited and pretended to be customers. • Moments later one of the suspects, pulled up his t-shirt, revealing a gun and announced a robbery.
