While the mid-cycle facelift introduces a host of aesthetic and feature upgrades, the major highlight of this facelift is the fact that a hybrid electric drivetrain is now standard across all variants. That’s right. As part of Toyota’s continued carbon neutrality efforts, TMP has decided to offer the new Corolla Cross as standard with a hybrid drivetrain. That means your only drivetrain choice is a 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine that’s paired with an electric motor to give a combined output of 121 horsepower. This drives the front wheels via a planetary gear e-CVT.
