Visit or contact them and tell them you found out about them through me.) 2023 Kia Stonic LX AT (YB CUV) [Style Edition] Engine: Naturally aspirated 1.4-liter Inline-4 - Kappa II MPI 98HP; 132NM Gasoline Transmission and Drivetrain: 6-speed automatic transmission | FWD Price as tested: Php 964,000 Impressions/observations during the test drive: The exterior design of the Stonic is more on the sporty side, especially with "Style Edition" designs like this specific test drive unit has. The only shortcoming of the exterior design is the fake exhausts at the rear bumper, though. Moving into the interior, the design uses durable materials rather than premium ones which give it a durable, yet still good quality feel. It also has an infotainment screen in the front which is easy and responsive to inputs. The wired Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is a useful feature of the screen which gives the interior modernity. When reversing, this screen shows the reverse camera which has an average quality. In contrast to the techy screen, its RPM and speed gauges are analog which is a refreshing sight to see in today's time where most other new cars in this class has an all-digital driver's display. Some other cars in its class has better quality cameras, though the Stonic's is still useful. The 4-cylinder engine of this car makes enough power and torque for casual city driving and quicker-paced driving as well. It is noticeably smoother than the Toyota Raize G's 3-cylinder engine especially at idle and slow driving, though. Power and torque are transferred from the engine to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission, which shifts smoothly enough in automatic mode. This is subjectively preferable over the Raize G's CVT. It down shifts when more power is needed, which is a good thing. In manual mode, the transmission's response to inputs has some delay though that does not affect the usability and fun of this mode. Like the Raize G, this Stonic has no paddle shifters, and the only way to shift in manual mode is to push (to upshift) and pull (to downshift) the gear lever. This is preferable over the Chevrolet Tracker's +/- buttons for its manual mode. The Raize in manual mode responds quicker compared to the Stonic though. Compared to the Raize G's steering, the Stonic's weight is the same but its sharpness and responsiveness is way better. Its chassis also gives the Stonic an advantage over the Raize G because it has less body roll. These design facts of the Stonic make it a better handling car compared to the Raize. The accelerator and brake pedals of the car are responsive with inputs being received by the car reliably. Its brakes really stop the car well, which gives confidence to the driver. All these observations lead to a conclusion that this car is much more engaging to drive compared to the Raize. It responds better to inputs and handles different situations better, which makes this car better to drive, overall.
