The 718 Cayman GT4 shows maximum performance not only when sprinting from 0 to 100 or more, but also when stopping back to 0. This is ensured by 6-piston aluminum monobloc fixed caliper brakes at the front and 4-piston aluminum monobloc fixed caliper brakes at the rear, each with red brake calipers. For high dimensional stability and very good pressure point behavior, even under high loads. The composite brake discs are large at the front and rear with a diameter of 380 mm, perforated and internally ventilated - for high braking performance even in adverse weather conditions.
Proven in motorsport: the optionally available Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB). With particularly large brake disc diameters, 410 mm at the front and 390 mm at the rear, it offers even better braking performance and constant braking pressure. The decisive advantage of the ceramic brake system: the extremely low weight. The brake discs are around 50% lighter than cast iron discs of comparable design and dimensions. The brake calipers are available in yellow as standard and also in black (high-gloss) as an option.
The interior of the 718 Cayman GT4 is designed for sporty ergonomics. Short distances, direct information, high functionality. Reduced to the essentials - and an unreasonable amount of driving fun. The sports seats Plus with raised side bolsters offer firm support. The Race-Tex circumferences offer firm grip.
Typical 718: the instrument cluster with 3 round instruments and central rev counter. Typical GT: the yellow needles. And the GT-specific, Race-Tex covered sports steering wheel with 12 o'clock marking and black spokes. The βGT4β lettering adorns the center of the titanium-colored rev counter.
Decorative seams, "GT4" lettering on the headrests and door release loops are silver-colored. The latter are derived directly from motorsport and underscore the sporty character of the sports car, as do the trim panels in brushed aluminium.
A Race-Tex equipment with extended leather scope is optionally available. With this, the decorative seams and the door opener loops can also be executed in the contrasting colors red or yellow. The straps can also be colour-matched on request.
In addition to the regular maintenance scopes within the framework of the standard maintenance intervals, additional maintenance must be carried out for circuit operation.
The ****ounced front spoiler lip, with an additional spoiler in front of the wheel housing boxes, ensures aerodynamic downforce on the front axle. The central air inlet in the front section also optimizes the aerodynamics and directs the air flow upwards through the exhaust air opening in front of the front cover. Even the underside of the front spoiler lip has been aerodynamically optimized. Here, a special profile - similar to a golf ball surface - ensures the lowest possible air resistance.
No optical frills, but super sports car technology: the diffuser, which fits between the 2 black tailpipes of the sports exhaust system. It creates a very fast air flow on the underbody and thus even stronger negative pressure. The result: 40% more downforce on the rear axle than on the previous model.
The 6-cylinder boxer engine features direct fuel injection (DFI), integrated dry sump lubrication and adaptive cylinder control. In addition, a variable intake system with a switchable resonance flap ensures optimal ventilation of the engine. Sounds technical and a little dry, but it's exactly the opposite.
The precise 6-speed manual transmission is equipped with a dual-mass flywheel and, with its optimally matched ratios, puts the high performance of the engine directly onto the road. It also ensures a particularly sporty driving experience. And the dynamic double-declutching function does the rest if you wish to keep you on your toes β and your endorphins.
